Utah beach

First beach stormed by the Allies on the morning of June 6, 1944, Utah Beach was chosen to establish a bridgehead in the Cotentin in order to take the city of Cherbourg and its deep-water port. At the end of the day, more than 23,000 American soldiers landed to fight a titanic fight and liberate France. The Utah Beach Landing Museum preserves the memory of these men today.

Omaha Beach

Among the five D-Day landing beaches in Normandy, is Omaha Beach, also called “Bloody Omaha”, located 20 minutes from Le Clos des Sources. World famous, it hosts the largest American military cemetery in Normandy at Colleville-sur-Mer.
Having become the symbol of the sacrifice of the soldiers, Omaha Beach is today, in the same way as all the Landing beaches, the emblem of freedom and rediscovered peace.

Sainte Mere Eglise

Sainte-Mère-Eglise, was made famous on the night of June 5 to 6, 1944, during the American aerial landing. Private Steele, an American paratrooper, then clung to the steeple of the village church. Today, the dummy and its parachute hanging from the church steeple serve as a reminder of past events.
Near the church is the Airborne Museum which offers an exhibition dedicated to the landing of the 82nd American Airborne Division.
